Calibration of the widebandsonde with 1.1.44

Hi All.

I were today going to put in 1.1.44 into a vems, and would then calibrate the wideband sonde, but i cant turn on the heater from the terminal program like i use to do with 1.0.73
I have turned of the aimstream, and that did make a diffrence, so ican now see the right page, but the heater can not be turned on,
Is there anything else ican do to calibrate the sonde, as i cant figure out to downgrade to 1.0.73, as i could then have used that to do the calibration.

Also ona sidenote, how much difference would there be on the wideband, if i use one of the preveius settings for the wideband, how big a error could there be?
As im also thinking if the sonde needs to be changed, do you then calibrate it again?

Thanks,

I have now found out how to ga back to 1.0.73, so i will do that, so i can calibrate the wideband, but can it be that its not the same command ( Manmde02)that i need to turn on the heater, as in 1.0.73,
Or could there be somthing else wrong?

Thanks,

I've used WB calibration settings from 1.0.73 and they worked without any problems on 1.1.43.

Easiest way to downgrade from 1.1.4x to say 1.0.73 is to use PSI Tuner.

When using terminal you need to remember that 1.1.4x uses 19200 not 9600baud.

Thanks,
I have changed the baud to 19200, and it is talkingtothe ecu, i just cant use the same command to turn on the heater,.

the problem here is that its a new ecu, and a new wideband sonde, and i would like to calibrate it,
But i have before changed a wideband sonde on a car, were the sonde was broken, and i could not tell the difference between the old working and the new one,
and i did not calibrate it again.

If you talking about OE system then calibration is automatic. ECU measures calibration resistor in LSU connector.
But it is not related to VEMS.

Currently I have problem with unit where something goes wrong: when i type mde02 LCD immediately shows P (Pid I suppose), normally there must be W (warmup). And no heating - no signal to FET. I tried 1.1.27, 1.1.44 and 1.0.7x. Have I hardware problem?
I can adjust pump zero and I have 4.0V on pin 5. But last step fails :(

Hmm,

That could be the same problem i got, as it seems that it works, but i also cant turn on the heater.

at first i thourght it was becourse of the aim stream, but that was not the case,
I will tommorow try to downgrade to  1.0.73, and see if i can get the heater turned on.
Mine is board number :1996.

can there maybe be some parts missing?

Some time ago I had board with shortcut under  wbo2 heater fet pulldown resistor.  But IIRC then P and W was like normal. Only no heating.
Now I have AFR=?? and O2=??, but P is ON from beginning when type mde02.

I did the following to getting it working,
I started the car, with the wideband in freeair, then it heated up,
and i just keept the car running, and then turned on the terminal program , and calibrated it to 20.9 in freeair.

Well thats a way of doing it I guess... Not ideal though :(

No, i know, but the only way i could turn on the heater ::)

Here is answer on my problem! Look at this dirty corner:

No presence of 3 resistors. Two of them definitely is part of WBO2 system.

I hate this: even more often than 1 of 10 PCBs from Hungary comes with built-in defects. OK may be someone stole these three in way to me :P

I soldier all 3. And now all works as usually.

That's shocking - but as we know the manufacturers of VEMS do not read this forum ::).  Can you tell me which serial numbered boards have had problems, and I will let them know that they need to get their arses in gear.
