Injectors problem
« on: August 21, 2008, 10:27:40 pm »
I have now tried to update the software from 12x12 to 16x14 but now the car doesnt start. I have firmware 1.0.73final. It seems like the injectors doesnt open. I have tried to copied all the old information from 12x12 to 16x14. When i tried to update back to 12x12, the problem is still there.

My setup is: Vems V3.3 with singel coil and hall sensor on the crank. Two m8 screws in the crankwheel, Siemens 630cc injectors.
The car is a Sierra Cosworth.

When i used the 12x12 the car was perfect but my tables was to small to get the map perfect. Then i tried to update to 16x14 and now the car doesnt start. I have spark and the injectors have battery voltage with the ign is on.

Injectors outputs:
0 - 2
1 - 8
2 - 4
3 - 1
Is that correct?

Sorry for my bad english. Iam from norway :)

Regards
Tom Andre

Can you post your settings from both msq´s ?
There is going to be some sort of a mismatch going on causing this.

When going from 12x12 to 16x14 its not possible to use the MSQ to transfer the configuration.  This will need to be done using the config and tables files.

From my experience when upgrading from 12x12 to 16x14 config stays inside ecu. Only tables need to change.

ok :)
I have some more questions.

1: My engine is a 2.0 cosworth and i have four siemens 630lb injectors. Is my req fuel correct? It is now 5.4.

2: I don`t use the lambda controll. But must the Lamba table be correct when i don`t use the lambda?

3: What about my acceleration enrichments? is they correct?
Accelerations bins
0 - 2
1 - 5
2 - 20
3 - 40

Acceleration amount
0 - 0.5
1 - 1.0
2 - 2.0
3 - 4.0

Acceleration duration 1.0ms
Acc cold multiplication factor 20%
Cold acceleration added amount 0.1

3: I use MSD 6A ignitionbox. What should i do have in?
Coil chargetime @14v
Coil chargetime @6v

1. Req fuel ( from http://www.vems.hu/wiki/index.php?page=GenBoard%2FManual%2FConfig%2FInjectorOpening )
req_fuel = 6.49 * (D / N / I)
= 6.49 * (499.5 / cc's of your injectors)

2. Yes, the fuel calculation uses the lambda table to scale the fuel.  This means that you put your ideal fuelling map in the lambda table (1.0 at low rpm, moving upto 0.9 and 0.85 for higher power, and then richer under extreme boost).

3. Your dv/dt bins are correct the amounts are dependent on your engine and injectors.

4. I've no idea about the MSD 6A ignition, chargetimes are based on coil requirements but what the CDi unit actually does is unknown to me.

i use MSD blaster 2 coil. Now i have 3.01 ms in coilchargetime @14v and 0ms @6v? Can that be correct? What about my injector settings?
