1.2.31 spark based Idle
« on: September 27, 2017, 06:43:42 pm »
Hey Gents, sorry for beating this to death. Cannot, for the life of me, get this ignition based idle control to work. Does this feature not work in this current firmware? I tried upgrading to 1.2.38 which resulted into a whole bunch of errors while uploading the old 1.2.31 config. Car did not start.  I will upload my latest config and a short cold start log a bit later.

Your integral limit of 12 seems really small to me. Try 200 or so to start with.

Also your rate of change being 5.0dev/256rpm is a lot smaller than I tend to use. Try 25 to start with.

Thanks bud. I will give that a shot. I remember perusing the forum and reading something about this feature not actually working in 2.31. firmware. Any thoughts?

It's working in your log, just not working enough for you to think it is I guess. Once the integral hits 12, it stops there because of your limit.

Ok I will increase the integral limit in the Ignition PID to 200 and then the rate to 25 to see what happens. Being that I did away with the idle control valve long ago and the compression being close to 8:1 it is pretty angry when it is cold unless I hit the throttle a few times to warm it up.

Would you recommend going to 1.2.38 anyway? I assume more features are rolled into that one compared to 1.2.31.

Thanks again for your prompt replies.
