Rover V8 Trigger Issue
« on: October 20, 2016, 05:03:00 pm »
Hi,

Im just about at my wits end with this one! I'm running a 4.2 rover v8 with a 36-1 on the crank pulley and a converted dizzy with a small 36-1, both have hall sensors.

The issue I'm having is that when the engine is cold everything is fine it will idle and rev no problem, but once the engine is up to temperature it will no longer rev smoothly, I get less ptrig in vemstune and the engine will stutter, the same at idle but it will randomly stop.

I've tried moving the sensor to various position by the crank trigger, it seems to be very sensitive to it position half a mill in the wrong direction and it won't pick up the wheele correctly when cranking.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Adam

maybe sensor itself is broken? that's often thing when sensor warms up it looses connection somewhere inside
