Bluetooth module
« on: July 18, 2015, 10:46:56 pm »
This https://shop.vems.hu/catalog/bluetooth-rs232-adapter-p-179.html?osCsid=9eeb514419996d28ef96bc008ad11959

Can this be updated to include a capacitor that keeps it alive during cranking conditions?

What is your power source?

It would be the same 12v as the ECU, this very often drops upon startup.

Ok a 12->5volt power supply connected to the same power source as ecu and switch by ignition key ?

yes, the ecu might well turn off, but the bluetooth takes quite a while to come back on, so a capacitor that can hold it for maybe 1-2sec

If you measure the current draw on the 5volt side, then it should be possible to calculate the size needed for 2-3 sec backup power
