WB & EGT gauge "issue"
« on: June 11, 2014, 12:50:57 pm »
Hi,
is there any reason why you order the Round Gauge, the O2 sensor and the EGT sensor, BUT the EGT sensor won't connect to the gauge out of the box, but will do need to remove the DSUB9 female plug - buy a male + female thermocouple connectors and install them in place?!?
Maybe I'm missing something?
Sorry but wiki is so confusing and got no reply from support.
Thanks

Hello Wolf_Tm,

It seems you bought a EGT sensor with EGT amplifier, the latter is not required when using the EGT sensor with the round, it has an internal EGT amplifier circuit.

To get going fast, remove the amplifier from the EGT sensor and wrap the wires together (white to white / green to green) and apply some shrink wrap to protect them.
If you would like to easily disconnect later applying a thermocouple connector pair is recommended.

Best regards, Dave
