How does vems get info regarding the consuption in l/100kms?

Probably something like Injector Flow Rate(BaseSetup->EngineSetup) * Number of injectors *  Injector Dutycycle / Road Speed.

P259 shouln't "show" anything, it's an output and has nothing to do with wheel speed input.

V3.6 comes with wheel speed input, best to send off to Budapest for upgrade unless you have the right skills and tools.

i bought my vems in 2009. It has version 1.1.27, and i am now waiting for a new ECu unit with a few upgrades i have requested,

i posted this because i wasnt expecting any reading from the fuel consuption, as speed input was not there back in 2009(or so i knew)!

it is weird that i do get a reading although still on 1.1.27. Does this  mean that it is of no use at the moment?

The fuel consumption always works, but can be based on rpm - which means the gauge is calibrated for a specific gear (cruising, maybe 5th gear). I can't say right now how it's done.

obviously the speed sensor now that i have upgraded needs a PID control!!

my car spedoemeter which is where the sensor is getting it's input is working fine. Always has. The sensor it self on Marcel's guide picks up the proper signal that shows the km/h, but then jumps around constantly when accelerating. Mostly upwards on the gauge. I doubt i would be able to use the consumption or gear depended boost with a jumpy signal like that.

How difficult can it be to get a proper reading when VEMS is able to get a signal from the speedometer which works fine?

i hope this can be tackled by the developers as it seems to be a good choise for boost as well.
