air & coolant readings error
« on: October 04, 2009, 12:10:54 am »
hello all,

I have a air temp sensor & a coolant temper sensor, i have tested these out to both be the same 2050ohm at 25degc.

I've uploaded the nearest 2063 2063 256 with the firmware 1.1.44 in to the ecu.

But vemstune shows air temp to be 28degc, and coolant to be 18degc.

My garage was measured at 20degc.

Tried bypassing the earth direct to the battery, readings still the same.

Measured the voltage & resistance at the sensor the same at 5.05v, and 2.61ohms.

So swapped the air & coolant sensors over at their connectors, readings still 28 air & 18 coolant.

I'm now just lost as to where the problem is, as both sensors should read the same.

Anyone help out?.

cheers

scott

Possible that the temp file upload didn´t go that well?

yes its possible, as i am still learning here.

Is it possible just to upload one at a time or do they have to be uploaded together.

Can the factors be downloaded some how, or read in the ecu to see whats loaded?

Really need this out the way so i can do some other work, been trying to sort this for a week now, and nothings working.

cheers

You could be using the vemstune program and that should be the fastest way.
Just go into upload firmware and look at it there.

hiya,

Tried a few times now to upload the 1.1.44 firmware via vemstune, and i jst get a program crash then it exits.

Been using the latest vemstune.

So something weird going on.

Maybe i should just go for latest 1.1.61 and see what happens.

I'm confused as hell at the moment.

cheers

Well any ecu system takes time when you are new to things.

I haven´t had a problem with the firmware side of vemstune , so not sure what to say about that one.

If that fails then it´s best to look at installing 1.1.53 using the .bat files it comes with.
That should be easier. get it from here.

some success

i uploaded some new firmware, as 1.1.44 would only crash.

after re-loading config

readings are now 19 coolant & 20 air.

Still dont think its the right curve, but better than it was.

cheers
