Using batterycharger as powersource?
« on: February 15, 2009, 01:00:44 am »
I'm doing some testing with my laptop running linux debian and at the moment I have no battery to connect the vems too.

So the only other means of a powersource for me at the moment is the batterycharger, but thats maybe not so good?

I wouldn't use one myself, they're not particularly well regulated and who knows what voltage and noise they put out?

Clearly when the ECU is sitting in a car its subject to an inferno of noise and voltage transients, but it has a large battery to take out a lot of the unpleasantries.

Yeah. Just what I thought.

I managed to get at my car today, so I have been testing alittle. :)
And everything works as it should when connecting the laptop to the vems.

Using debian lenny with wine and I'm really looking forward to getting the vems in the car and start tuning :)
