Question regarding adding cam sync to 132+1 auditrigger
« on: January 21, 2016, 07:54:54 am »
Car is Porsche 944 Turbo, 2.5litre inline-4 with K26 Turbo. It has 132+1 auditrigger (without cam sync).

Ordered twin-shield harness for 6cyl from webshop (to have boost controller outputs etc) and VEMS with full auditrigger (2x VR+ 1x HALL) and would like to add cam sync to the engine.

Now the question is, where should the cam sync event take place with such a configuration?

Also could someone give some hints regarding trigger configuration?

Do you want to use the TDC pin as the cam sync and just ignore it every other rotation like the Auditrigger does? If so, you have the hall sensor on the cam on/active for the duration of the cam rotation where the TDC pin will go by the sensor on one of the rotations. Makes sense if that's during Cyl #1 compression stroke, but doesn't really matter a whole lot since there's so much configuration options.
