Connection error (problem solved)

Nothing.... nothing at all what possibly can be the problem when gauge itself works fine... but no connection to the computer is possible??? I`m out of any ideas for now... I think there is nothing left to test anymore

Correct, I intalled all things to car and tested that EGT shows temperature and when lambda connected it showed around 20.0-20,2 in free air (currently WB lambda is disconnected and the gauge shows - - -), now I needed to configure it to send out NB lambda signal to stock ecu and then discovered this problem.

Who did you get the gauge from?

I was going to suggest that you try to reset the firmware - but I dont think that its going to resolve anything.

Best to fire the Estonian guy an email and direct him to this thread.  With the best will in the world I can't support everyone on my own.

But I'll continue trying to help where I can.

Now I tried to connect when computer was in safe mode and last with third computer... no change
Yes, I contacted with seller and lets see how we can put it to work.

Firstly, computer witch I used first time, has problem with com port or windows. Secondly, computers what I tried later, I tried them with adapter cable and I checked it and guess what... it`s not 1:1 cable Now I opened the plug to connect it directly to computer and connection established
So, all the problems were just coincidence of many bad things...
Lesson learned, check one time, check second time and when needed do the same third time.

Hi, i've got the same problem, that megatune can not connect to the egt gauge..
i've tried it on 2 pcs:
- vista with onboard rs232
- xp with usb to rs232
and with both i have the same problem..
when i select the right com port and data rate (19200) and hit test, it just says no response,
but when i open the terminal, it says "booted" when i switch on the gauge..

any suggestions?

Quite often this can happen if you're using the wrong MegaTune software, or if MegaTune is set to offline.

and the mark next to offline is not there..
just tried to switch it offline and online.. no change..

That one is for the full VEMS ECUs you need the one for the wideband & egt gauge:
