Setting up the mulit-function gauge
« on: June 07, 2014, 06:46:38 am »
Hey, I am new to the vems/stand alone engine management world. I have 1992 golf with a turbocharged vr6 and VEMS. I am currently trying to set up the gauge, I have selected 5 separate slots for data display. My question is what is required to have AFR displayed. I have lambda displayed on my first slot along with Manifold pressure and on my second slot I have selected AFR and Manifold pressure, but it just displays 000 for AFR. Also I have selected PSI instead of KPA for pressure reading, will the gauge read  negative pressure {inches Mercury}. Can anyone give me some insight towards figuring this out

There is something at the bottom of this page :
http://www.vems.hu/manual/vemstune/help2/htmls/main/aim.html

The protocol only contains lambda  and MAP pressure in bar :
http://www.vems.hu/wiki/index.php?page=AfreshTiny/AimDisplay

The gauge has to calculate AFR / psi, could be firmware dependant. Running the most recent?

Other than that, I would only ever use lambda for fuel mixture, and psi for MAP pressure, but we all have our motives.
