Siemens deka 840 cc injectors
« on: January 08, 2014, 06:59:48 pm »
Struggling to get the injector settings correct, and the coldstart settings.

The engine is a stock b230ft and as the topic says, the injectors are siemens deka 840cc.
I've used Mattias b230fk config and tried to change the req_fuel both up and down, but it still don't want to fire up as it should.

My config:
http://mail.linuxportalen.net/public/v3.3_n000758-2.0.8.vemscfg

I don't have a log, but I will try again tomorrow and do a log then.
But if someone use the siemens 840cc on a similar setup, I would be glad for the help.

File is not accessible.
Are your ignition part correct?
If yes for first check does your injectors fires individually during cranking. Simultaneous for big injectors with wrong dead time may cause serious missfueling.

Forgot to set user read on the file :P
Should work now.

When I get the car running, it runs great and with no misfires or anything. So the ignition part is ok as far as I know.
Yeah, I have simultaneous set. I'll change that when I try again tomorrow.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Tried again today.
Changed the injector firing to individually and it was catching a little better, but still wont fire up as it should.

My config:
http://192.168.1.1/public/v3.3_n000758-2.0.9.vemscfg

My log:
http://192.168.1.1/public/v3.3_n000758-2014.01.09-16.01.27.vemslog

Tried some more, so here is another log. Tried to change the req_fuel settings up and down..
Second log file:
http://192.168.1.1/public/v3.3_n000758-2014.01.09-19.24.31.vemslog

I'm trying to read up on as much as I can, so that I know what to change and why.

Been out again today, and tried some more.
Can anyone look at my config and logs and see if something stands out?

It catches a little bit, but it wont start and after a little while it doesn't catch at all. Tried to go up and down a little on req_fuel but nothing seems to help.

http://mail.linuxportalen.net/public/vems/1201/

I go through the forum and wiki to see if there is something I can try to get it to start, but it kinda pointless when I don't know what's wrong.

Your MAP is reading 67 KPA, so your settings for it are wrong. Is is a 300kpa sensor?

Please record and upload a triggerlog ( Tools -> Record triggerlog ), both with and without sparkplugs. ( NO FUEL until you get stable RPM and the primary trigger angle setup correctly )

Thanks for the reply

400 kpa internal sensor, and the trigger angle is correct. At 10 degrees, the gun shows 10 degrees.
Will record a triggerlog and post it.

Been out in the cold and done some triggerlogs :)
Pulled all the fuses except for the ecu.

With sparkplugs in:

Without sparkplugs:

Both triggerlogs shows spark events. Means there is rpm reading and sync. On your .vemslog files there is no rpm readings. Should be some condition differences...

Hmm. Might be the same problem that I had with my old starter then...
It made so much noise that I had trigger errors.

I'll try and overhaul and clean it up, and see if that helps.

Thank you for the replies.

So, I've been trying to change the ground point for the shield on the trigger cable.
While doing this, I saw that the cable has some damage to the isolation, and felt quite stiff.
I moved it around a little, and when I tried to start it again, without any changes it caught better atleast one time (this is the part where I start cranking after a long pause and hit 4-600 rpm in the log).

So I think I'll get another sensor and try with that, just to be certain that it's ok.

Log file:
http://192.168.1.1/public/vems/1601/v3.3_n000758-2014.01.16-16.21.53.vemslog

Thank you very much for the help so far Gintsk and Erikk.

Got the new sensor in today.
A little bit better, but that might just be my imagination...

Here's the log with the old sensor: http://mail.linuxportalen.net/public/vems/1601/v3.3_n000758-2014.01.16-16.21.53.vemslog
And here's the log with the new sensor: http://mail.linuxportalen.net/public/vems/2201/v3.3_n000758-2014.01.22-15.31.41.vemslog

The config: http://mail.linuxportalen.net/public/vems/2201/v3.3_n000758-2.0.11.vemscfg

I've tried to adjust the req_fuel, and also tried changing the ve map, just in case it had bad values and wouldn't be able to run with the values but no difference for startup.

I'm going to do one more test tonight and see..

Still trigger errors, but got a pointer from Mattias.

So I'll try again tomorrow and see if I can get the errors to go away and try again.

It's all very new to me, but I feel that I learn something new quite often when dealing with it.

Since it's not my setup of the injectors that are the problem here, I'm going to lay this thread dead for now and come back to it if I have anymore problems with fueling.
I'll make a thread about the trigger error issues I have in another part of the forum.

Thanks for the input guys :)
