interpret trigger log?
« on: February 21, 2019, 07:47:32 pm »
Hello folks,
I've done initial testing on a new 60-2 VAG rear main seal trigger, with distributor Hall secondary.
I wonder if someone could educate me on the meaning some of the output?
Firmware 1.2.31
5 cylinder - using default 5 cyl 60-2 configlet settings, and initial setting of 72deg. TDC after Trigger.

Full triggerlog here:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1_auxcsRmUyRaDwwtvh1j-d2pkMy65BkB

What is the meaning of LESS PTRIG ? It appears to have the correct number of Ptrig teeth represented (58) in each case.

Also, am I correct in interpreting that when this error occurs, it interrupts the ign events, which is why there are only 4 indicated.  The cycle starts over after the next secondary trigger, and is again interrupted by the error?

Hope that link works!
Thanks

Found the issue!
primary trigger settings Configlet for 5 cyl 60-2 sets trigger edge to rising as default - I failed to change trigger edge to falling for VAG 60-2 RMS trigger.
Now clean trigger log!

But, timing light shows cylinder 1 firing at cylinder 4.
Guess I need to alter the ignition outputs.   I need to figure out the difference between rotate firing order, and shifting outputs...
