No trigger on EC35 Logic level
« on: May 27, 2017, 12:18:20 pm »
Hello

I have an assembled ecu that i purchased about 2 months ago from Vems, I have got the Car running now, but only on 3 cylinders (out of 4).

I have tested the coils, plugs, power , earth and wiring and they are all ok. I have also checked the outputs with a test light and pins 11,12 and 33 all work OK (cylinder 4,3 and 1) whereas pin 35 doesn't (cylinder 2). I have also tested them using the test mode in vems tune which gives the same result.

What will be the best thing to check next (transistors?) I have had a look inside the ecu and couldn't see any damage

This is the spec of the ecu:
1 x ECU VEMS V3 (v3.6)
        1-wire interface no
        EGT input 1
        ETC BridgeOutput_Interface 0
        Flyback HighZ-only 30V flyback
        Hi-side PFET outputs 4
        ignition driver 4
        Knock input channels 1
        LCD connection yes
        MAP connection 300 kPa simplenipple
        mounting-style flanged case
        primary_trigger EC36/27 VR
        secondary_trigger EC36/13VR
        Service ASAP
        Special requests no
        withSDcard no

Firmware version V3   1.2.31
I am using SAAB 4 pin logic level coils  on a B207 motor.

Thanks, James

I have removed one of the IGBT Transistors and converted it to a logic level output for the coil and this has solved the miss fire.

I used this topic as reference for anyone else who may have this issue  http://www.vemssupport.com/forum/index.php?topic=1841.0

The original output is still not working
