55Pin connector for AAN on 3.6 board
« on: March 18, 2012, 05:12:40 pm »
I've got an 55 pin connector and a assembled 3.6 with the 36 and 18 pin connectors. Is it possible to take the 36 and 18 pin connectors of the board and put the 55 pin connector in its place - are they pin compatible, or will I have to make and external harnass to join the pins. Does anyone have a AAN vs genboard 3.6 pinout to use for checking? I found one one the wiki docs page, but the colors are not in english so I'm afraid I'll make a mistake.

No, you have to re-wire. Either inside(with another case endplate) or outside the v3 ecu.

Have a look at this page: http://s2central.net/motronic_04.html

Ah thanx. I opened the ecu box and saw trhat the connector won't fit. I'll make an EC18/EC36 to 55pin adaptor cable. Does anyone know where I can buy the EC18 / EC36 connectors? I'd like to get PCB mounted ones, so I can make a PCB to solder them to with the extra wires for DB9 etc on connectors as well.
