vems tune maps only go to 255kpa
« on: April 02, 2010, 12:16:36 am »
So my VEMS has the 400kpa map sensor. And my motor is going to be running about 300kPa manifold pressure. So I need the range in the VE and spark tables. Vems tune won't let me set the values any higher than 255 for the Y axis.

----edit-----
I have the latest version of vemstune, and the firmware is version 1.1.69.

Actually, I am using the 11-08-2009 version of vemstune. I didn't think it was wise to use the ones marked "testing".

Should I try updating my version of vemstune?

open ecu calibration within vemstune

Table Kpa unit should then be 4

Is there a similar setting for the battery voltage reading? Currently vemstune is displaying 4.9V. I have 12.4V on the wire with my volt meter.

All the calibration settings are in one dialog. You can't miss it.

Always use the latest version of VemsTune.

Just go through the menus and be patient.
Press F1, most dialogs have a help text.

I'm bringing this thread back alive. I have my VE and spark maps with a range of 30-500kPa now. The problem is that my car often runs at less than 30kPa while cruising along at light throttle. I read on the wiki that if you reach MAP pressures that are outside of your table that the values just stay the same as the nearest map point. Is there a way to run the minimum MAP value at 20kPa and the maximum at 400 or 500?

I´m pretty sure you won´t be running more then 400kpa.
And find it strange that you get less then 30kpa while cruising

Have you verified that the map sensor is configured right?

In any case you can just change the scaling like you want in the range which you want.

Well, thats the problem. In Vemstune, you can't set a number lower than 30kPa at the low end. The top end is fine, I have it set at 350kPa and there is plenty of room there.  I usually run about 300kPa manifold pressure when I get everything sorted and tuned. I would like to be able to tune the low pressure range a bit easier. I have the decel fuel cut set at 25kPa and I dip into that pretty regularly coasting, or even going downhill.

My map sensor seems configured right. It reads 81kPa with the engine off. Just about right for my altitude.
