got my gauge today n am slightly unsure bout the wiring.

on the gauge there is 4 bunches of wires out the back.

a big white one for the sensor.

a small ish green one im presuming is for the egt sensor.

a smallwhite one with a samll 9 pin female comoputer looking plug on the end - i have no idear wot this is for

a thick wite one which has the corrasponding connection to a seperate lead included which has a fused red wire and a blue wire. im presuming the red is live n blue is earth but are these the only live and earth's? they just seam a little small too me for a sensor and a gauge.

can some1 let me no if i am correct and what the small white unch of wires is for.

Yep, the thick sheath has the 6wires in for the sensor.
The Green wire is the EGT wire, note that the green and white wires have a polarity (shown in the user guide).
The smaller wire with the 9 pin on the end is to be connected to a PC/Laptop's serial port.
The wire with the fused connection connects to the 15pin plug.
The reason that the fused plug bit exists is because you can solder additional wires onto the various pins, to provide the lambda out, the analog and RPM in.

No problem.  I'd get the thing working first then concern yourself with the additional functions like the RPM and the lambda out.

to b hounest im only using the afr funtion so i can jet my carb. im not a big fan of wires, sensors n all that so i will proberly never plug it into a lap-top (u dnt need to do u?) or add any other funtions to it, may get the egt sensor tho.

i was reading another thead n they sed bout a botten on the front? never realised it was a bottem lol, what does it do?

It steps through the different units of display, Lambda, AFR, and the value on the bottom between degC, degF, RPM etc.

If you were to feed RPM into the unit you'd be able to plot fuel over RPM which might help with your jetting.
Add TPS and you'd possibly be able to get your acceleration jets sorted nicely ;)

the main problem with that is i dont have a lap-top to use! sounds handy tho. where wud i take a rev input from? can i just b a feed from one side of the coil? and i dnt have a tps, its only an old renault 5  carb on a xr2 turbo set-up, basic as u like but works

oh and if i need to extend the wires to the lambda sensor wot is the best way of doin it?
