When asking for technical help at the very least let us know the version of firmware you are running.

I took the courage to update my 4 years old firmware to the the latest VEMSTUNE.... I am well impressed with all the new features!!.

However, please can I ask you guys to check some of the confirgurations after the updates...

Firstly, I have these invalid values for my ignitions table

And my old working values are:

Does the value looks OK to you?

First set nr of ignition outputs to 8, set all table entries to valid values. Then set nr of outputs to 4, and in the output table repeat the two outputs you're using twice ( = complete 4-stroke cycle).

If you use the latest firmware available through the firmware web tool (Tools menu) then make sure you're really using the latest VemsTune and have updated the files manually (Preferences menu, bottom "update files manually").

OK thank you.

How about the Primary trigger? Do you think I have set it up correctly? especially the "reference tooth" table. I have no idea what the reference tooth is for.

mattias

The reference teeth are to allow the ECU to keep track of where each ignition events happen as the crank turns. Unfortunately the developers decided it would be a good idea to traverse all those tables backwards (the arrow gives a hint about this) to make it harder to understand for new users, just accept the way it is.

Just press 'apply' in the "visual" view of the primary trigger to copy the suggested reference tooth table to the actual table (which is the second next dialog).

If the ignition events happen in the wrong order, just go to the "ignition outputs visual" and use the shift up/down buttons to change the order. Strobe again and get it right.

It's not good   >:( Couldn't get the car started after the firmware upgrade.

Can anyone give some pointer on what to do next?

mattias

Use the built-in report tool in VemsTune to create a report of your problem and give us the web link to the report, attach a vemslog and triggerlog file. See the help menu.

Are you getting RPM? Any spark, any fuel events?
There's none of this safety lock out function that I saw when I did an upgrade recently?

tom70

OK, thanks for the advice.

I will give it a go again this weekend :)

tom70

Ah.... I got it working now. Basically, I reversed the ignition firing order + changed the "crank ignition advance" from 0 to 10 deg.

Thank you for everyone's pointer trying to get it going again.  ;D

You'll need to tend to the fuel - especially the acceleration enrichment, this should make a substantial improvement to your throttle response and on a 4A-GE that should be quite impressive.

It is no longer a 4age rob, Im running f20c with 20v's throttle bodies on supra injectors. :)

It was mapped by Greg 18 months ago. Then the frying injectors FETs problem started.... something to do with the supra injectors maybe..

but i will definately play with the acc. enrichment when I have the time this weekend, working away from home is kinda suck..
