Hi
i have vems wideband + egt gauge and from last week egt reading sometimes are in all over the place showing all thing on idle on whatsoever im doing, is this is signal of probe going to die or something else. When i give a twitch next to probe on cable sometimes reading are allright but most of time reading going wrong. Please help
cheers
p.s. is this guage do have peak function?

Might want to re wire it as it seems like the connection is bad on occasions.
a new prope would fix it instantly I´d bet.

jankes

how to rewire it, i checked connection at yellow plug and seems to be fine.cheers

gunni

Might be at or close to the sensor, if so then you need to add a yellow plug where ever it has gone bad.

i know what you mean but hard to find that place, i have feelling that is next to probe :-( and probe is fixed with cable so will be hard to fix it, or it can be send somewhere??
cheers

If you connect the wires together - with a piece of normal wire, the sensor will read the temperature at that junction.
So you can at least work out if the wire from the unit to the plug is good.

dont get it? im thinking that something is wrong with wire next to probe,if i cut them there then i wont be able to connect them together as probe is not for reassemble isnt?

if the wire by the probe is broken then the whole sensor needs to be replaced - my test was to ensure that the wire from the gauge to the plug was still good, as it would be a pain to find out that you bought a new sensor - when it was the other wire...

ok now i got that. i think is next to sensor coz like i said when i give wire next to probe a bit of twitch then reading are allright, maybe shaking engine broke the wire, as i seen in diffrent probes they got little piece of spring after probe to avoid that imo.
