Title: Roller rocker discussion - split from Tony's project thread
Post by: dnb on March 27, 2007, 09:59:40 PM
I'm looking for roller rockers for the Rover v8 - need to be as cheap as possible!

Not too sure if the ones on Summit will fit - they aren't advertised for the Rover, but the specs say they might fit.  JEGS don't seem to have anything at all.

Can any Chevy parts be convinced to fit?

Kenne Bell are not made any more, so are impossible to get now.

Would buying 2 (or more) sets make the price any more favourable for importing?

Have you seen this site:  http://www.tsimportedautomotive.com/  If you look up the performance parts for the TR8 then it lists roller rockers for the Rover v8 for $425.  (US->UK exchange rate is still favourable)

if you look at the large picture on on the link bellow ( thanks v8tuner !!! ) i think they are yella terra part no YT6000 - wont post it up because it large

http://www.v8tuner.co.uk/products/large/pic533.jpg (http://www.v8tuner.co.uk/products/large/pic533.jpg)

Looks like price permitting we are on the first stage of the first 'VEMS forum group Buy'. I am awaiting response from Marc's customer in Aus who has Some 'Faulty parts'   ;) ;) ;) to return from the last kit car shipment.

Already done...  I need to speak to Rob again - if he hasn't sent my cam out yet, I could do with a few more things thrown into the box.

No idea if these would fit, but it seems the RV8 was used in the Triumph TR8 (a US only model)

What do you think?  Worth a phone call to the States?

Roller Rocker Arms  - TR8/Rover V8 (also GM version).  Aluminum rocker arm with roller tip and force feed oiling to tip and pushrod.  Oilite bronze bushed so no need for special rocker shaft

you refering to that Dave?

That's the one.  It sounds suspiciously like the YT6000 Yella Terras.

Not managed to follow this up yet.  But given the current exchange rate, I'll do it ASAP!
