Title: im lost
Post by: Denmark on April 09, 2008, 08:38:23 PM
I must say that iÃ,´m totally lost, in setting up the Subaru trigger ,
IÃ,´m even lost in  getting the right H2 table, as i just can change it in the config( for some strange reasen)

I have uploaded 1.0.73 and that is working, but the H2 table is still the old setup from 1.0.38.

I can not run download config with the megatune in the 1.0.73 packede,
but i can do it with megatune from the 1.0.53 packede, but i cant copy that to the 1.0.73 packede, then they will just be empty.

Can someone help me , so i can get this working?.

The Trigger setting is even worse, and i also need some help for that.

You can't use MegaTune to do upgrades.

Use Download-config.bat to get your configuration and tables files.

Make your changes to the H2 table,

Generate config, then upload.  You'll probably have anti-lag issues upgrading from 1.0.38 so use generate config with defaults.

thanks , that was the plan,
But i canÃ,´t use download config,i just writes "unit not ready, unit not ready , unit not ready.

I can only use down load config, when i use the 1.0.53 packede, but then i cant copy that to the 1.0.73 ,so i can generate config.

Do the files that 1.0.53 downloads contain anything or are they empty?
If you are getting "Unit not ready" then you have a problem greater than uploading a new configuration will solve.

Once you have the correct firmware uploaded you should be able to access the config and tables setup easily.

If i use the download from 1.0.53, then itÃ,´s fine, but i just cant upload them again,

it is 1.0.73 that is in the ECU,but for some strange reason i just cant use the download from that packede,
I just tryed to put in 1.1.xx firmware and that is also fine, can even use the download ,
but i also dont have anything that i need to take from the old firmware to the new firmware,
So does it matter?

I dont understand what's happening...

Using 1.0.53 you can download the config?
Then you copy the config and tables from the 1.0.53 configs folder to 1.0.73's configs folder, then run generate-config12x12WithDefaults.bat
but when you run upload-config.bat you get an error?

Yep, that is working fine.

Then you copy the config and tables from the 1.0.53 configs folder to 1.0.73's configs folder,
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Allready here, there is a problem,as all the text, when moved, is written vertikal, and not lateral,
So the generate config does not work.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

then run generate-config12x12WithDefaults.bat
but when you run upload-config.bat you get an error?

I cant see much wrong with that...
What errors are given when you run generate-config12x12.bat?

ItÃ,´s writing in danish,
Not ready ,not ready, some 30times or so, then it comes to the tables, and do the same,

But if it looks allright, it dosent matter, if i need to show the config, i can just download it with eigher the older or newer version, the only one i cant do it with, is 1.0.73.

I have even tryed to delete the one i hadinstalled, and downloaded it from a difference source.

Still the same.

Silly question, but is the script set to use the right comm port?

I've been caught by this one once...

It is whenever i will use the download or upload from the 1.0.73 packede, it writes "not ready"

I dont suppose it to be the wrong com port, as i can upload the firmware without trooble,
ItÃ,´s just the config part that dosent work.

Well thats damn strange, and I must admit that I'm stumped on that can you use Terminal to communicate with the system?  If you can then mcd and mct will get your config and tables.

I found that the dos batch file to upload config was set up to use com4, whereas the batch file for firmware was more sensibly set to com1.  Worth checking for the sake of sanity!

That is over my pc level, to figure out were to look for that setting :'(

Right click on the offending batch file and select edit from the context menu.  The batch file should then open in notepad or whatever editor you have as default.

You can then eyeball the script and look for a random com1 or com4 (or whatever) that isn't right.

Thanks,

And yes, it was indeed set to com4, changed that, and itÃ,´s now working.
