I have read the documentation and ensured it's getting good power supply and earth (hooking up directly to the battery). But still I get the error. The only thing i've done recently is solder pin 10 to get rpm input. I double checked the soldering to ensure i'm not touching other pins etc and thats all fine.
It's been running in the car for a year or so, and just installed it again and now get this error
Any ideas anyone ?
Sean
Hi Sean,
-e- usually means that the sensor is not connected or powered up.
Check you 5A fuse, and double check that the sensor plug is tightly secured.
Rob
Hi Rob,
I eliminated both fuses, by by-passing them both temporarily.
Also cjhecked the plug and it's certainly secure and in properly.
What next ? gulp. I desperately need this too as I need to run in my new rings and I know the fueling is out currently due to a new pump..arse! :'(
Do you get anything in the heater cycle? (When it fires up counts H00 up)
no,
as soon as it gets power it goes
-e-
then
-------
nothing else
Then its not seeing the sensor at all, otherwise it would be reading the heater state and reporting the heat feedback.
what do you recommend then rob ?
Odd it's been working for so long but not now ? i did think i saw a little water drip out of the connector when i opened to checked/re-connect it earlier on, so sprayed it with contact cleaner, still no joy
it's working fine now, thanks for the repair and new sensor Rob! ;D
I'm a bit disappointed to be reading this to be honest. I bought the WB off sean and got it fitted at the weekend and its doing the same thing. Can you confirm that it was fixed previously? It appears that it either wasn't fixed or has broken again but rather than go through the hassle fixing it he sold it on.
Can you advise on what fixed the sensor/controller last time? How much is it likely to cost and is it going to be a permenant fix?
I've checked the earths and 12V supply. I have the sensor earth going to a clean earth and the power earth to dirty so Im confident its not that. It doesn't go into the heater/warm/up stage either just on one flash -E- then permanently ----.
I know Sean bought it as part of a group buy on 205gtidrivers forum and I don't think anyone else is having this trouble.
