Does vems support the original Cosworth trigger system.
4 VR pulses on crank on 360 degree crank rotation and 2 VR pulses from distributor (720 crank degree).
What setup do I use ?

Hello Per,
Yes this trigger is supported, some info in wiki: http://www.vems.hu/wiki/index.php?page=InputTrigger%2FLanciaCosworth
In VT there is a pre-made configlet for it, in primary trigger settings load configlet "lancia_cosworth" and use recent firmware 1.2.28 recommended.
Best regards,
Dave
But it's recommended to use multytooth setup. You have p&p 36-1 for others ford engine.
Thanks Dave, haven't looked for that configlet :)
I will report back. Going to start it up today

Hi
No RPM signal when cranking......
Cossi has 4 evently spaced tooth wheel on crank + 2 tooth on distributor spaced 180 crank dg
I have no crank signal in vemstune. No rpm signal and nothing in the triggerlog.
Also analog temperature is fine and fuelpump runs for 3-4sec when turning the ignition on.
Fuelpump does not run when cranking.
When I scope LM1815 output to processor I get a fine square pulse when cranking. Also the VR signal to the LM1815 is fine.
When I measure from LM1815 output and directly to the processor leg there is 0 Ohm. There is a solder point below the processor where I can scope fine crank pulses.

Both LM1815 input and output pulses are in sync, but with different voltage.
Print version is 3.8.
First I put in new firmware 1.2.28, but got no crank signal. Then downgraded to 1.2.27, but still no crank signal.
Then I changed the triggertype from LanciaCosworth to distributor (4 pulses 720dg) and no camsync.
That did not help. Still no rpm signal.
Ignition and injectors is disconnected and plugs are out when cranking.
Log taken when cranking with distributor setup.

Help is very much wanted

Did some testing on the new cossi pcb
When we have installed 1.2.28 and downgraded to 1.2.27 it was impossible to change the trigger settings. If trying to change parameters the ecu lost serial concretion at once?
We installed 1.2.28 and then we could change trigger parameters
I found the p259 was fired. Haw can this happened, Per did not use any of the channels and inj and ignition is also not connected yet so no current at all.
All comments are welcome

In such a mysterious issue, I would wire the genboard on a bench and begin with lengthy testing using a scope, the trigger tool along with stable versions of fw and VT.
Sorry just a one cent comment
Philippe
1.2.28 has some changes to allow even invalid tooth combinations before the first trigger pulse, to ease (initial) trigger setup. As i recommended this version, there is no need to try 1.2.27. I will put some notes on FirmwareChanges page later today.
Breaking the p259 without anything connected to its outputs is possible by not having gnd5 (Power Ground) connected on the ecu while having some other load connected to INJ/IGN or Wbo2 heater output, the p259 has in internal safety gnd5 to gnd junction which acts as a fuse when loaded. Perhaps the gnd5 connection was forgotten during tests ??
Best regards, Dave
Hi
Reverted back to 1.2.28 and now selecting "missing tooth" can be done without the ECU disconecting.
However when cranking it take ages :( before the ignition fires. Sometimes it does not fire even after some 15 sec of cranking.
When the ECU eventually decides to fire the ignition I get a bunch of P and Strig errors, but the ignition still fires.
The cranksensor is new and the engine runs fine on the original Weber ECU.
Only about 1 out of 4 cranking attempts will fire the ignition. I have a scope on the output FET.
The output FET has a 2.2K pullup because it drives a Magnet Marelli amplifier (same type as on a Volvo 940 and many others)
no plugs+Injectors+ignition+lambda is not connected.

I tried to connect everything but will not start.
Is the "TDC after the trigger" (49dg) correct, when using the Cosworth configlet ??
Help is much appreciated....
