Title: Windows phone 8.1
Post by: LHK_audi_S2_Nor on June 29, 2014, 10:40:36 PM
Hi
is it possible to install Vemstune on a Windows 8.1 phone? I'm running VT on a Windows 8.1 PC, connecting to the cars Vems by bluetooth, would be cool to do the same with a mobile phone and be able to change maps etc with it.. :-)

This would require a special version of VEMSTune to be compiled and probably rewritten.  MS is just confusing people with their attempts to create 1 windows.  In reality there are 3 very different versions of windows, Windows Phone 8.1, Windows 8.1 for ARM processors (like tablets, used to be called Windows RT) and then the full blown windows 8.1 that runs on traditional laptops/desktops.  The latter one is the one that will run the standard VEMSTune.  If you want vemstune on your phone you will need to grab an android phone and run VEMSTune for Android, but there are significant limitations on android.  It was basically a data viewer last time I used it (last year).

Thanks for  the info. Vemstune for Android, do you mean VemsDisplay? I'm running that, and it works very good, but editing tables/tuning would be even better :-) Logging on phone, then exporting log file to VT works well too.

According to recent windows phone news, android apps might be usable on the platform. Don´t hold you breath though.
