Title: Strange problems when conecting to VEMS APP
Post by: AudiS2 on April 21, 2014, 04:54:45 PM
Hello!

I have a problem and i hope some one can give me some tips.

I was running a pnp audi s2 vems and all was perfect.

I removed all the original Audi wiring looms and made a new engine loom.

All is good now but i have one problem. As soon as the VEMS APP connects to the ECU my fuel-pump starts running and the engine wont start.

If i start the engine without the vems app connect-it the engine starts fine but as soon as the vems app connects to the ecu it stalls.

How is this possible?

Tanks

Forgot to say. I have no problems at all when running VEMS Tune.

You also forgot to say exactly which versions of the ECU firmware, VemsTune and the app that you are using.

Had a look at the car today and noticed it was my one mistake!

Because it worked fine before i did the wiring i looked first to the thing i changed.

Before i had a USB powering the VEMS Bluetooth adapter. I had a look inside the Bluetooth adapter and i noticed pin9 on the RS232 connector was connected to the positive 5v connection.

I thought it would by very nice and clean to get the power from the RS232 connector so i don't need a separate USB anymore. So i connected the 5v from the VEMS on pin 9  8) works nice and the Bluetooth adapter powered up!

But then a the problems happened. fuel pump starts running and car wont start.

I disconnected the 5v from the vems and powered the adapter from a USB and all works fine now!  :p
