I've read in:http://www.vemssupport.com/forum/index.php/topic,2141.0.html (http://www.vemssupport.com/forum/index.php/topic,2141.0.html) about knock alternative, but don't know how to change the CompileOptions. Is this a programmer option only or what? I'd like to test it out on a beat motor I have and get it tuned correctly before I put in the new engine. I've read up about setting it up in the help pages as well so I figure that the FW would be available...
Also, is it best to just stay with this FW or go to 1.2.23?

All firmwares post 1.2.15 have knock alternative included, your currently best of using 1.2.23 (latest). Make sure you are using the latest nightly VemsTune (2014-02-06) and run update ini files from server before attempting connect to, or uploading of the new firmware.
After following this procedure (VemsTune update to latest version (2014-02-06) and firmware update (to 1.2.23) ), knock settings are available in Inputs menu in VemsTune, as outlined in the knock setup help pages (http://vems.hu/vt/help/v3/v3_knock_control.html).

Thanks for the info Dave. A couple more questions for you:
1) When I download/install the latest nightly(2014-2-06), VT version shows as 1.5.24(2014-1-08). I uninstalled the previous version prior to this. Is this the correct version and the date/version wasn't changed? and;
2) Updating the .ini files is done through Preferences => Update Files Manually, correct?
