Title: second egt
Post by: Seight-v8 on April 19, 2013, 08:24:40 PM
can vems support a second egt, as I have a v8, is it worth my wiring a second egt to the other bank, while I am doing other mods in the ecu?

if I do can the firmware support/read it....or am I wasting my time.

cheers

scott

Yes it can, I have ordered VEMS with two EGT's preassembled in the factory and it worked.

I wonder though what has to be done to connect up to 8x EGT like I read somewhere in wiki.

Here's what I read in comments about firmware 1.2.11 in Firmware Changes page:

Quote•[1.2.11] - for testing

•LCD page9 can display 4 EGT and 2 lambda
â—¦it seems popular now (especially in USA) to log multiple channels that v3 can do easily (some v3 ordered with 8 EGT-inputs and 2 lambda)

So it is entirely possible to use up to 8x EGT.

just use egt converters which provide 0-5v output, connect them to vems analog inputs, and set these inputs as egt :)
