Title: Firmware version 1.2.13
Post by: dnb on April 01, 2013, 04:55:45 PM
I'm probably an early adopter here, but has anyone tried it yet?  It claims 2 wideband control of fuelling based on injector timing, and obviously this is something I'd like to try...

Has anyone got a vemstune config made yet?  I've got 1.2.13 on an ECU, but haven't got an easy way to configure the new parameters yet, and no reason to assume I've got everything correct - so less than ideal...

No new VT. Or at least config file for VT. So we have no access to that settings IMO.

Just update vemstune ini files. So preferences, update files manualy (or set update to automatic).

Yes. And did you got something 1.2.13 related from there?! Me not.
I think files comes from here: http://www.vems.hu/download/VemsTune/autoUpdate/

I did the obvious things, and since 1.2.13 is not a release firmware it's not likely to be part of the stable VEMStune distribution.

btw, noticed knock settings have changed, maybe anybody knows is there any knock testing going?

They are still  coding/testing Knock. A rpm depended noise threshold will be added. We have to wait a little time for the knock control.

If it has any chance of working well it will need at least cylinder offsets and load dependant function.
i.e 3d table with rpm and load as the axis and the values are the noise thresholds.

that's a good news :)

as i see in 1.2.13
// Knock sampling F9
  uint8_t knock_chan;      // knock channel for each cyl; F0=disable
  uint8_t knock_sampling_window;   // knock, sampling window [4 degree] length:start(ATDC)

#define KNOCK_SIZE_RPM 8
#define KNOCK_SIZE_KPA 8
#define KNOCK_SIZE (KNOCK_SIZE_RPM*KNOCK_SIZE_KPA)

if I'm not wrong, I see there are changes in firmware, so is it working in 1.2.13? I understand that's not finished, but is it possible to play with it?

It would appear the global.h supplied with the 2.2.13 firmware I first downloaded did not have the correct label for the byte I was interested in.  This is now correct so I have hacked a simple VEMStune config together to use the ego selector.  Going to try it on the car before the weekend.
The ego bank selection sits where the LCD backlight used to be.

i'm just about to wire my second lambda in to the ecu.

I've got a IRF640N (P304J) from the vems shop to fix to the ecu board, which I hope is the right one to make the second wbo2 work?

Don't quite know what this does, just hope its the right one I need?

if any knows?

thanks

i'm not 100% sure if irf640 will work on heater place.
Injectors mosfet are driven by 12v, and heater with only 5V. So mosfet should be logical level mosfet.

I used the chips from the webshop that are described as for use with injectors and wbo2. They are the only two in my box as i use igbt for both ignition and injection

IRF640N is totally fine for wbo2 heater. But the question remains, is any additional hardware required for 2nd wbo2 channel to work properly ?
