Title: setting up mat sensor table
Post by: mdlimy on May 24, 2011, 07:21:16 AM
I really think i need to properly configure the table for my iat sensor, but im not sure how to go about doing this given the few values i have.

it is a gm sensor and here are the specs.

Temperature    Ohms

48 degrees F    7000
87 degrees F    1930
146 degrees F    560

now how do i go about inputing that in the 17 point curve table? or flash table, what ever that is  ???

thanks!
Robbie

Ok, let's clarify and get useful numbers first :

10 C = 7000  Ohms
30 C = 1930 Ohms
63 C = 560 Ohms

The patch files that you upload with a firmware are based on the temperature around 20 C (.. or very close). I recommend uploading the firmware a few times with a few different patch files. Start out with the 2700 file and go from there (NTC 2700, AREF=256). Make notes and change patch file one step up (higher Ohm) if it shows too hot.
When it matches properly with ambient, just settle for that and it should match at higher temperatures as well - the curve is usually a match.

Thanks Mattias, how do i go about uploading the firmware with differente patch files? I downloaded the airxfactor hex files, but im just not sure how to upload them, everything i have read so far is a bit confusing and i cant find a clear explanation what to do.

Thanks

VemsTune -> Tools -> Firmware -> Firmware upload

Any more questions ?

Can't believe I missed tfhat. So I just find out what ambient temp is then keep changing firmware till the mat reads the same or very close correct?I assume the same process for the clt sensor, its a stock bosch volvo sensor, just measure cooolant temp when cold and keep uploading to match?

Thanks

Exactly, just match the temperature to ambient and you're set.
