Do we have any info as to what VEMS will do regards EMC interference?
Has it been tested against any particular spec during manufacture?
I know most of it is down to good installation, but some potential customers (commercial, so needs to watch his back) really do ask awkward questions!!
We've not done any EMC testing, so the unit is not CE stamped, the cost of certification is far too high for an organisation like ourselves to undertake.
I have heard that the wideband driver electronics can run at a frequency that causes interference on some car radios, they're looking at the effects of adjusting the frequency with regards to the effect it has on the sensor readings.
I spoke to our man responsible for such things - his attitude was that if it works in a car, then it's going to pass at least the susceptability test... :)
There's more to CE marking than the EMC tests though. Most of it is damned obvious.
As long as people don't sell it as CE marked, then I don't see a problem.
Given the fight I had (and won) with Blaupunkt, large companies don't always get it right. ;)
