Title: camsync or not on BMW S38B38 engine
Post by: Timmo6 on January 04, 2011, 09:27:25 PM
Hi all,
it has been a long time ago to frequent vems and want to start again on a different setup
I have a BMW S38B38 E34 M5 engine which I will put vems on
I think that both sensors for crank and cam are VR but still not sure
Should I first only do the setup with only primarytrigger VR or is the camsync setup a must go?
thanks
Tim

It´s not a must to have camsync, you can run dual out if it´s the COP version

OK thanks,
will the stock 60-2 trigger crankwheel be suitable for a Honeywell Hall sensor or should I rebuild my v3.3 board for primary VR setup because the stock S38 sensor is VR I think.

Best to stick with the stock BMW trigger - it works perfectly on a large number of installs.
So you'll need to reconfigure the VEMS to suit the trigger.
