Title: ign adjust - cold
Post by: Seight-v8 on June 09, 2010, 05:47:26 PM
hello all,

can anyone give me the idiots understanding of this setting in the ignition settings?

ign adjust - cold (0 deg c)   as i have -7deg in the settings box.

as for some reason....my idle advance is only 5-7deg when i think it should be more like 12-14deg..

So its making the engine lumpy, been through the settings over & over and this is the only one i can find that looks like it might be why.

I've gotta presume that this retards the ignition by the said degrees during warmup????

anyone help

cheers

scott

Change it to 0 and see what happens when it´s cold

Yes.

Press F1 for help in any dialog, the info is there.

yes i read the dialog...but just wanted to make sure before changing anything.

Well i changed it to 0, but then found my knock sensors where also retarding the timing by 4degs.

So i've disabled knock sensing for the time being.

spark at idle now up to 9deg, as the table says it should be.

Lambda readings are now a little rich, so will now need to re-tune the VE table me thinks.

cheers
