Title: Warning from Wiki to upgrade from 1.1.6x to 1.1.7?
Post by: NOTORIOUS VR on April 22, 2010, 11:28:05 PM
I've got a few cars running on 1.1.68... recently saw the warning about needing to upgrade, but all these posts about 1.1.70 giving issues makes me want to wait it out... The cars seem to run fine... but I don't want to take any risks either.

Should I just leave the cars be for now till the RC becomes an actual release, or should I really upgrade asap?

What can actually go wrong with the 1.1.68 version?

Cheers,
Sascha

Seems lambda target sometimes sticks at random value from table.

I am using 1.1.70 as well. (the config version says 1.1.69 though?)

The only problem I have is I cant get my SD Card to work. Anyone have SD Card working on 1.1.70?

ok, seems reasonable then... maybe I'll upgrade one car to .70 soon and see how it goes from there.  If there are no big changes (tune wise) between them I will probably convert the others as well.

The lower config version is there becuase it's backwards compatible. There has not been any changes since 1.1.69 so the current 1.1.73 uses that config version too. Sometimes the only changes in a firmware update are functional/algorithms so there is no need for new variables or tables - that would require config changes and the version number would be bumped to the latest firmware.

I have used SD card with 1.1.70, it works. You need to be very specific about what you are having problems with instead of throwing out "doesn't work" to us, it doesn't help.

From the 1.1.70 firmware thread:

<<< Is the SD Card Logging not working on 1.1.70 fw?

2 weeks ago I was using 1.1.63 fw, now I have 1.1.70 (and also a different SD card and circuit board)

I'm using the same VemsTune (I tried Feb-5, Mar-8, and Apr-16 versions) and trying the same procedures.

The card seems to "Erase" ok, but when I go to "Save" - it takes forever and does nothing, crashes, and/or sometimes says "not compatible with this firmware"

How do I tell if the card and circuit board is OK, short of converting back to 1.1.63 for a test?>>>
