Title: testing injector firing order
Post by: Seight-v8 on November 08, 2009, 10:58:24 PM
hello all,

So is it possible to test fire the injectors from either megatune or vemstune, before i offically start my engine?

Just thinking i need to make sure i've got the wires going to the right injectors, as i have eight, and would like to make sure everythings ok, before i assemble them for good.

cheers

scott

Do you mean individually?

Or as if the engine is running

You could also just select the outputs in megatune as controls for fuel pump or similar and that way test each output on it´s own.

You can use a computer sound card to play a trigger pattern into the primary trigger.  This will trigger the ECU and you'll see the firing order happen.  It's best to use LEDs instead of the injectors, and make sure the fuel pump is disconnected!

On the engine you can switch of coil of chosed cylinder (type unused ign output) and then injector (type 0 for this cylinder). If both matches, just exact cylinder will not work. If injector would miswired, then you will get two non working cylinders.
