Vems non p'n'p problem - oil pressur to low on autocheck (audi AAN)

(1/1)

guzior:
Hi.
I plug Vems to my friends S4 with AAN engine.
I use EC36-pin30 (P259 ch.7) with 5v pull up to run the tachometer.
When I start the engine, on autocheck display was blinking oil pressure (
)
I try 1k and 2k7 resistor for pullup. Tachometer works good - only this oil pressure warning irritates me. What should I do?

What kind of resistor is use in P'n'P VEMS to run the tachometer?
Or maybe I should looking for reason in the different "place"? Sensor's not demaged.

Regards
Bartek

PeepPaadam:
1K pullup to 12v is usual practice for tach output and VEMS has a provision for SMD resistor also on the board for EC36 pin4 (P259 ch 0).

On Audis, when tach is NOT working, oil light is blinking, but since you have tach working, it's something else. Maybe you don't have oil pressure??

I don't think, that durning 4 hours, that I was connecting VEMS, engine broke down  ;)
Tomorrow I try to use EC36/4 to run the tacho.

guzior:
I connect tacho to EC36/4 - the oil pressure problem disappeared.
But now, another one came out.

I connect launch control as in PhatBob manual, an when I chose channel 5 to launch, it's permanent turned on. Nothing happened, when I close the EC18/16 to ground (with 2k7 pullup to 5V of course). When I chose any other channel (from 0 to 4) launch is also activated (lunch switch is connect to EC18/16 all the time). For channel 6 and 7 not.
What is the problem?
