Is it wired up right and known to work?
What you could do is wire the tacho up, the signal line should trigger of a injector pulse.

yup wired correctly
and was working fine last year when i was running a coil and dizzy.

Can you verify the input the tachometer likes to function

this im not sure of mate,
just found this on Autometers website,
our tach needs to see (12v square wave).
