VEMS Outputs For OEM LCD Display - Audi A4 Quattro.
« on: July 07, 2009, 04:22:25 am »
Hi guys, not sure which section this fits into, but here goes!

I've just installed a 1998 Audi S8 4,2L V8 into my 1996 Audi A4 quattro.
Got the engine running, just need to neaten things up, and sort out cooling system.

My question is this - my car originally had the Driver Information System (LCD) that indicates:

1) Driving time.
2) Fuel range.
3) Average speed.
4) Average MPG.
5) Instantaneous MPG.

Now, I realise the driving time, as well  as average speed will still work ok. Is there any way the average mpg, instantaneous mpg and fuel range could be integrated into VEMS? I know there are spare output channels, is there any function built into VEMS that will provide the above data?

I'd really appreciate it if anyone has tried this, or has any info that would set me on the right track?

TIA.

It will partially depend on if the information is coming from the ecu or the display unit is doing the actual calculations.
The later being the more likely.

You´d probably need some sort of an output that relates to injector pulsewidth.
I´m sure this can be programmed but is not available at this time.
