Nissan PNP
« on: July 03, 2009, 07:14:24 pm »
Well the components are here for me to begin.

The final goal is.

Completely PNP + replace the CAS with a swapped disc one.
+ Wideband sensor connection to the ecu
+ Air temp connection to the ecu
+ Boost control solenoid control
+ EGT sensor input
+ SD card logging ability

There is no limit to what Nissans this will work with as long as their discs can be swapped.

Expect SR20´s and RB25´s to be the first one ready.

This will not have a harness, just PNP.

I´ve now finished the setup of the CA18DET protype.(60+16 type plug)

I´ll be looking at the 48+16 plug next and when I have finalised the versions(all the RB engines and SR20 engines) I´ll have PCB´s made up and production can begin.

Retail will be available when the PCB´s are done and I have done the config for basemaps.

Since I began this PnP project I´ve made a few alterations and the product will be alot better and easier to work with then
before.

And it will make PnP for other cars easy as well.
Expect to see a Motronic 55pin PnP next.

The final casing and connector setups have been finalized, the ecu internals organized.

The full CA18DET ECU spec will be as follows.

Sequential Injection
Sequential Ignition

Internal 400kpa map sensor
Input for Air temp sensor
Internal boost control
Idle valve control

4 PWM High current outputs for various controls.
2 Extra relay controls
3 Analog in channels
1 EGT channel

Internal datalogging possible
Serial connection
LCD connection

PCB is about to be ordered.

The one single PnP ecu will then work for all the 76pin Nissan's.
So if the customer sells the ecu later it does not require to be fitted to the same model car as does the Power FC for instance and very possibly the Link ECU. It´s all in the config.

At the moment it looks like this.
No added wiring required to run engine (CA18DET, SR20DET with 76pin ecu, RB20DE/T RB25DE/T, RB26DETT, VG30DETT)

Additional wiring is however

Wideband sensor
Air temp sensor (RB26 stock can still be used if wanted)
5 High current auxiliary outputs (can be used to setup wasted spark without stock igniter)
3 Analog inputs
1 EGT input

LCD output for VEMS LCD.

Depending on engine and it´s spec the stock ecu connector can be facilitated with more pins to add even more auxiliary outputs.
