Software for comparing configs, tables, logs, etc.

I'm sure everyone compares different versions/dates of their VEMS configs, tables and other files.

Been using BeyondCompare for years and I can say I highly recommend it for this purpose.  Makes it a lot easier to see what changed or not:



Another option is UltraCompare, which is a partner app of UltraEdit, a text editor I've been using the past 10 years.

Both are paid apps though, but for me has been worth it since I use them for both work and personal stuff.  If anyone can also suggest similar apps, preferably freeware, then please post on.   ;D

FYI, I downloaded winmerge the other day to compare some files and got a virus that knocked out my computer entirely. Had to reformat.
