VEMS wont draw on the screen
« on: June 23, 2009, 02:32:54 pm »
Ive seen this happen, albeit rarely and back int he day, on windows pcs.

You open an exe.
Window draws on screen within the 1024x768 bounds.
You fullscreen/window toggle using the button beside the X close button.
EVerything is fine, clsoe the app.

Next time you go to open the app, it starts, as evidenced by the start bar showing the vems logo in a button.
However, the GUI has drawn offscreen, somewhere beyond the 1024x768 bounds, not where it last was.
Right clicking the start bar icon for vems and selecting fullscreen snaps it to full screen, but
When unsnapped, it has a tendancy to draw it self off screen??

Is there an ini file that remembers the last on/off screen draw position?

I suspect theres something silly going on in the code to say last default drawn position was  @ 1280x1024
or some other location off screen. Full screening is the workaround, but it happens frequently with VEMS.
Most annoying.

Usually it's an OS thing.  Right click on the icon on the taskbar as you usually do, but click on Move then use the keyboard up-down-left-right arrow keys to put the app back into the screen.

How to know whether its already left of the screen when left arrow keying?
Right click on start icon, and have an option to  put top left pixel in centre of screen or some such!

Hi Pete,

There are cfg files saved in the profile folder ( VEMS Genboard V3 12x12 High-boost/mtCfg ) delete them and you'll find the problem goes away, you will need to reset your comm port though.  I'm looking forward to being able to try one of the new firmware releases and VEMSTune on this setup.
