ca18det tps high resistance
« on: May 20, 2009, 01:56:15 pm »
Hello!

We have a nissan 200sx with ca18det engine. The o.e. tps sensor resistance is more than 10k, so the vems does'nt handle well. At tps calibration the high adc only 16.
Need to change the tps for lower resistance type (on other car with 600 ohm tps vems work well), or possible (and not too difficult) change some component in vems?

Thx

Or put a 5k resistor in series.

I guess your tps is wrongly wired or dead.
VEMS have no matter what is sweep potentiometer resistance until it is to low. But you have high.

Also input resistance for signal is 1MOhm or so. If signal wire is disconnected it is easy to simulate TBS through your body by touching positive or ground.
