Checking FET's and IGBT's

How can i check for dead fets and igbt's with multimeter?

Measure resistance between drain and source(2. and 3. pin). If fet is good, than resistance is high(more than 1Mohm).

Can I test the output pin of igbt with dvm or led with serial resistor?

I use an LED driven from the +5V supply into the IGBT.
