I'm about to upgrade my firmware, and have tried this once before, and at that time my laptop shutdown because it ran out of battery.

So I'm wondering how long should it take to upload the firmware?

Hi,
2 minutes at most. What did the screen say?
If the comport number is not correct in the bat file it will just shutdown without telling you.
If you run the bat file in the "command prompt" window it will tell you the comport is wrong...

Gavin :)

it said something about things to check/ be certain of and the line press enter to continue.

And it took over an hour with nothing more than a new line. The command prompt never changed.
Maybe I should do a test with an xp laptop. Running linux and wine on my own.

Bat

Hi,
Which command was you using? Upload, Download, Generate?

Download first, ended without errors, generated 16x14 with defaults - (34 warnings, mostly about als stuff) and then upload-firmware16x14

Hopefully it has uploaded the firmware, and that it is just the config that is needed. Haven't tested it yet.. but will in a moment.
If it isn't working as it should, I'm gonna lend a xp laptop and try with that.

But kinda strange that it hasn't given an error.

Riff

Looks like it went ok. It was too cold to do much, so I selected 16x14 High boost, and then I got a complaint about firmware, and it said something about kpa not the same.. I didn't look to much at it, just disconnected and went back in.

But I glimpsed at the line, and it said something about 16x14, and if I'm not wrong it was 12x12 before.
Going to do a test again tomorrow with 16x14 standard and see what it says :)

Complaint about kpa from the MegaTune software is related to the MegaTune profile - you either selected 16x14 high boost when you wanted low, or low when you wanted high.

Riff

Yeah. I didn't set it up for high boost anywhere, but selected that profile in megatune.
So I'm gonna connect today with the 16x14 low boost just to confirm everything is ok.

But thanks for the help. :)

This is a real good forum . :)
