« on: November 07, 2008, 05:02:12 pm »
hi,

I cant get rpm reading in MegaTune, i am running 60-2 wheel and vr sensor. I also get these warnings in the audit.log

 WARNING(03): Value from option list "h2d4" = "3+4 (EC36 Pin 36+11)" not found.
WARNING(03): Value from option list "h2d5" = "INVALID" not found.
WARNING(03): Value from option list "h2d6" = "INVALID" not found.
WARNING(03): Value from option list "h2d7" = "INVALID" not found.
WARNING(03): Value from option list "act_wot_channel_names" = "INVALID" not found.
WARNING(03): Value from option list "launch_out_conf_speed" = "INVALID" not found.

what does these mean?

Im running 1.0.79alpha.

The warnings won't be stopping you getting an RPM reading.  When you configure the sparks the first 4 warnings will go away with a bit of luck.  The other 2 relate to ancilliary functions.

Check you have set up "constant for RPM calculation" in Settings->constants?

Yes i have the Constant for RPM calc on 2000.
Today i wired up a tone generator and changed trigger type to ´coil-type´, that gave rpm reading, that should confirm that the lm1815 is working as well.
These are my primary trigger settings:

Edge:rising
type:multitooth
Filtering:disabled
advanced Filtering:disabled
missing tooth type: N-2
Special trigger type: normal
TDC after trigger:84
nuber of teeth:58
triggertooth:0
next triggertooth:20
crank nim period: 2500

angular with of tooth:2
angular with of missing tooth:6
Engine phase, when to reset:240

what could be the problem?

i have checked the wiring and measured signal voltage, everything is Ok.

Perhaps the wiring on the VR sensor is inverted?

Use falling edge as it gives more stable readings as it has a more obvious change in pattern then rising edge.

you really need a scope on the signal.

I would downgrade to something known stable firmware (like 1.0.73) and use someone elses config with 60-2 trigger wheel to get the car running (if it hasn't run yet with VEMS). Then upgrade and experiment. Just my 0.02€ :)
