New logging software, but with a twist...
« on: November 04, 2008, 11:45:36 pm »
I now have a GPS (squarks NMEA sentences over USB) and various other sensors (eg accelerometers and cameras) that I would like to log data from for trackday tuning, laptime calculation etc.

It would be really useful if I could log data from my VEMS in the same program so that there is a reliable time synchronisation between all my data.  I presume all I need to do is send the "a" character to the VEMS and it'll send back a byte stream as described in the vems.ini file.  I then translate the bytes into "real" numbers and timestamp them with the latest GPS time, along with all the other data...  The goal is to log in the same basic format as Megatune so my tuning scripts still work.
Does anyone know if there's a maximum data rate for requesting data - I'd like a constant rate of 10Hz at the least.

Or better yet - can I get MT or tunerstudio to log from 2 or more different com ports at the same time?
