Cam timing may be 106in/116ex, still need confirmation.

Current emissions are 1920ppm on fast idle, they need to be 920ppm.

Was thinking shot of E85 and pull some timing in the bottom left?
Would a CAT be enough to sort this?

With a cam you get some horrible HC readings at low speed, although we got good emissions with a CA18DET running 1000cc injectors and 265 cams.
The first thing to try and clean-up the emissions is to try changing the injector sequence when using a 6 gas analyser, you'll see the HC and CO drop suddenly when the sequence is right.   This was shown clearly on the Mk2 RS Turbo APT did, it was spitting raw fuel out the exhaust and on the verge of stalling with a 1% change in VE, getting the sequence right brought the gasses within spec, then using the Injector opening time variable fine tuned the setup.  The PW was something like 2.3ms when it started but a drop to 2.2ms would cause it to stall, afterwards it was sitting sweetly at 1.9ms because it was able to burn the fuel properly.

Whers the injector sequence?

Were running wasted spark with semi sequential (2 pairs of injectors).

Any and all input appreciated.

Don't pair the injectors, that's a sure fire way to get things in a muddle.
Try:
1-3-4-2
3-4-2-1
4-2-1-3
2-1-3-4

Remember that they run from h[0] 3 to 0

This is the sort of issue that only helps at low engine speed, but it improves off-idle response - not as much as an improvement that the 1.0.79 accel enrichment will provide though.

If you can get me the config and tables files I can do a 1.0.79 upgrade for you.

I dont believe the injectors are hard wired in pairs.
I think the ecu is configured to run semi sequential?
We have to since theres no cam sensor for fully sequential, right?

So its just a matter of cycling through the 1-3-4-2 matrix until the O2 drops lean?
Or will the optimum pattern cause it to run rich with current map.

Of course, we can squirt fuel into the cylinder we think is the correct one, the wasted spark ensures it will burn.
Just cycle through them until the O2 goes to reasonably stoich on the existing map.

It probably wouldnt even start on 3 of the 4 optional settings.

Would that be a fair assumption.

If req fuel is currently halved, to give more resolution, would i just double it for sequential, or halve it again to keep the scale?

This is how Tweeks car is set up.
The trigger we use usually has missing tooth at 9 o clock, pickup at 6 o clock with #1cyl ATDC.
Coil 1 wire goes to coil for 1&4.
Injector loom has #1 injector at front AFAIK.

Yes

Just run it somwehere between lambda = 1 to 1.05 and it will be oxidising, so reduce CO and HC.

Try and put it somewhere close to the manifold if you don't want to have to rev the t!ts off it just before the test to warm it up.

Of course, sorting the injection sequence etc is still a good thing for other reasons, but if you need to get it through an emissions test, a catalyst might be the quickest way
