« on: July 08, 2008, 10:53:02 pm »
Hi, I try to run sequence injection , but engine not working good, what sequence i must use in vr6?
Ignition sequence is  1-5-3-6-2-4 , my ignition config:
coli0 - cyl 3,
coil1 - cyl 5,
coil2 - cyl 1,
coil3 - cyl 4,
coil4 - cyl 2,
coil5 - cyl 6.

what sequance must be in injection ?
injection A  to F ...

perhaps somebody use vems in VR6 ..

thanks
Krzysztof

How are your injectors wired?

 A - 1st cylinder ( pin 7 ec 36)
 B - 2nd cylinder ( pin19 ec 36)
 ......
 ......
 F - 6 cylinder  ( pin 18 ec 36)

likie this but only 6 injectors

In that case try:
inj 0 - 4
inj 1 - 16
inj 2 - 1
inj 3 - 8
inj 4 - 2
inj 5 - 32

thanks,
working OK, I reconfigured now ignition order and understand injection sequence,

still got problem with starting engine, some time start , some not , here is my msq , now req_fuel is 5.2ms , 6 injectors x 630cc at 3b , 3000cc engine capacity,  can you look at my sequence ?

ignition order 1-5-3-6-2-4

coil 0 - cyl 1
coil 1 - cyl 4
coil 2 - cyl 2
coil 3 - cyl 6
coil 4 - cyl 3
coil 5 - cyl 5

in0 - 4
in1 - 16
in2 - 1
in3 - 8
in4 - 2
in5 - 32

Is it sometimes 180 degrees out?

Sorry, I should have been more specific - does it seem that the ignition is sometimes 180degrees out?  So its igniting the charge in the exhaust?

yes, hear detonation in exhaust , some time when cranking try starting  - rpm go higher to 400-500, next hear detonation.

Your ignition sequence is messed up I think. Also cranking figures are messed. No way to start it.

ok, i adjust corectly ignition now:

ignition                  injection
coil   0 - cyl 4       0 -> 4      injection   3cyl
coil   1 - cyl 2       1 -> 16    injection   5cyl
coil   2 - cyl 6       2 -> 1      injection   1cyl
coil   3 - cyl 3       3 -> 8      injection   4cyl
coil   4 - cyl 5       4 -> 2      injection   2cyl
coil   5 - cyl 1       5- > 32     injection   6cyl

right now?

Injecting onto a closed valve is best, best yet is to inject onto the valve of the firing cylinder - why?  Because the fuel will have plenty of time to evaporate on the back of the hot valve.  This allows the fuel to mix well with the rest of the air and the fuel will burn correctly.

  ignition                injection
coil   0 - cyl 4       0 -> 8  - cyl 4
coil   1 - cyl 2       1 -> 2  - cyl 2
coil   2 - cyl 6       2 -> 32 - cyl 6
coil   3 - cyl 3       3 -> 4  - cyl 3
coil   4 - cyl 5       4 -> 16 - cyl 5
coil   5 - cyl 1       5 -> 1  - cyl 1

Cool, thats for the OEM system which has phased sequential injection.  If you choose to inject when the valve is open you have a very specific window of oppotunity, which changes with engine speed.  Tuning this would be massively difficult for those of us without emissions testing equipment, so the fixed injection timing solution was chosen.
The question of weather phased sequential injection gives more power or not is much argued, some say it makes no difference, others say that it makes a few %, the difference in emissions is significant, which for the motor manufactuers makes it much more important.
