Wire-in VEMS v3 ECU. External 400 KPA MAP Sensor. Bosch 2x2 Ignition Coil.

Thanks, just another day at the office.
Here is a new run on my "home dyno", which has a working RPM pickup and more consistent results.

Update, 1 year later.

This car now runs E85 fuel, still a street car, Bosch 160# injectors, it makes 680 wheel HP and it has gone 10.42@141 mph in the 1/4 mile.

VEMS is working great, I hope to implement some of the new features to make this car faster and still as reliable.

Sure, here are the specs:

    * ABA / 16v
    * 10:1 compression Wiseco pistons
    * Crower connecting rods
    * Stock 1.8 head w/ valve springs
    * Shrick Camshafts
    * Racecraft Intake and Exhaust Manifolds
    * Precision 6262 .63AR Turbo
    * Bosch 044 fuel pumps
    * Bosch 1680cc fuel injectors
    * E85 Fuel
    * Clutchmasters FX700 Twin Disc Clutch
    * Quaife 6 Speed
    * DSS Stage 5 Axles
    * M+H 25"x8.7"Tires on Exospeed 13" Wheels

- We ran the 10.41 pass on stock camshafts at 43 psi boost
- The 683 whp dyno was with Schrick camshafts at 39 psi
- Here's a dyno chart, one run is 18-22 psi and the 671 run is 38 psi

Did't 4th cyl suffer from leaner? Intake manifold looks too simplified for so high flow.

Regardless, no, there are no problems with any cylinders.

The E85 is working very well. This car has been too lean, overboosted (46+ psi on 43.5 psi MAP sensor), and still has no damage.

Sorry - 1st cylinder, yes!

What is launching strategy?
Crankshaft and bearings are OE?

The Quaife gearset has a pretty tall first gear. Right now, I'm basically running full boost down the racetrack.
The boost is 10-13 psi on the launch, and grows to 31 psi, the tires spin all of first gear.
On a "good" launch, the rpm will "catch" and drop from 8000+ down to 6500 rpm in the middle of the gear, and then it will be a good 60" time (1.6 to 1.7). The car makes ~36 psi in second gear, and spins a bit at the bottom of 2nd. Then it dead hooks 3rd and 4th as it hits 39+ psi boost.  The 10.41 run was with a 1.77 60' time. this is all unorthodox, with a lower numerically first gear, we can do low 1.6 60' times all day long.

Now that I have founf out about the "Completely Undocumented Boost by Gear and RPM 1.1.47FW and MT", I am going to try staging the boost some more.

I just had a setback, I found out that my test car has a broken Speed Gear in the transaxle, so i cannot use fromt (driven) wheel speed.

So, I'm back to making the rear wheel speed work. I'm just trying to knock a couple tenths off of this car before the end of the year.

Of course you never use a driven wheel unless you absolutely must like 4wd.
