VE AutoTune

Help me get AutoTune to work. I am too lazy to tune the car by hand now, best to let the ECU do it as it will be more accurate.

I have WBO2 correction working perfectly well but what I really need is to get my base fuel tables set spot-on.

Based on my research these are the parameters that I came up with:


Once I am done driving around and mapping sites, how do I merge them to the table? I don't have a keyboard hookup to VEMS, so it would have to be through laptop.

You'd have to use a terminal program (eg Brayterm) and send the keyboard commands that way.  From memory, you send Manmvs

I tend to not use autotune.  Instead, I have a Perl script to post process the datalogs to find the table offsets.

Cant you just go to the VE Table and "Burn to ECU"?

What do the rest think about your VE Autotune settings? Any other EGO corection suggestions?

i never was able to get it to work anyways. always use megalogviewer

I find it nice. The question is how to get it work right. If i set the speed of changes high then it goes really fast.

EGO correction or autotune?

this is autotune.

About the EGO i used EGO PID - 30. If i set it to 10 then it stays allmost all the time at 100 EGO COrrection but i dont know if it is allright like this. Didnt had a chanche to make a log till now.

I think its possible that the two are reacting against each other.  Try smoothing your ignition and VE map out around idle, and try to get the car to idle nicely without either aid on.  One thing that can help with idle smoothness is to set an RPM site 200 rpm either side of your idling target - so if your engine likes to idle at 950 rpm, set the lowest bins to 750, 950, 1150

I dont think that there is the provision to do this through MegaTune, its not something that is going to remain supported in furture firmware versions.
I've seen stuff about it on the Wiki, but if it works or has any relevance to anything at all is unknown.

Then what is the best way to process the Datalogs so i can modify the VE tables myself. I have nobody now that can drive so i can tune.
